Apakah kamu tidak memperhatikan bagaimana Tuhanmu telah bertindak terhadap tentara bergajah?
Bukankah Dia telah menjadikan tipu daya mereka (untuk menghancurkan Kakbah) itu sia-sia?,
Dan Dia mengirimkan kepada mereka burung yang berbondong-bondong,
yang melempari mereka dengan batu (berasal) dari tanah yang terbakar,
lalu Dia menjadikan mereka seperti daun-daun yang dimakan (ulat).

Seest thou not how thy Lord dealt with the Companions of the Elephant?
Did He not make their treacherous plan go astray?
And He sent against them Flights of Birds,
Striking them with stones of baked clay.
Then did He make them like an empty field of stalks and straw, (of which the corn) has been eaten up.


The Story of an Companions of the Elephant versus Flights of Birds

Once upon a time, there was a building called Ka'bah or the Cube. It is named after its shape. It has been a sacred place and many people come there every year. The neighbor king was envious. He wanted people to come to his building instead of Ka'bah. So he gathered an army to attack and destroy Ka'bah. The army consists of people riding elephants, they were called companions of the elephant. They march across the nation towards Ka'bah. When they almost get there, Allah sent a flights of birds to protect His building. These birds carried hot baked clay and they tossed them onto the companions. The companions of the elephant got lost and could not destroy Ka'bah.
In the same year of this event, our last prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was born.
